Q: How long does the recovery food last and how do I store it?

A: If stored in a cool, dry and dark location it should last for at least 18 months. If you put it in the refrigerator, just make sure the bag is zipped closed. Also, if you live in a humid climate be aware that when you take it out of the refrigerator that moisture will condense onto it like water on the outside of cold glass (best to keep bag closed until it has warmed up to room temperature).

Q: Is there too much sugar (glucose) in the appetite restore?

A: No, too much sugar is bad, these guys have limited capacity to break down sugar and starch. (Sucrose) sugar = disaccharide where glucose = monosaccharide. Sugars and starches (carbs) feed bad bacteria and they have limited enzymes to break these down and the rest goes to the cecum. Glucose is the food of cells and enters the bloodstream raising blood sugar and increasing appetite. An animal deficient in B vitamins when anorexic lowering potassium and chloride.
